What is Chiropractic and how can it benefit you!

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic services are used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.

What is Spinal Manipulation?

The purpose of spinal manipulation, also known as the 'chiropractic adjustment', is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time.

Benefits

Chiropractic helps manage and improve the following:

    * Joint mobility and function              * Muscle strength and function

    * Slows joint degeneration                  * Connective tissues

    * Decreases inflammatory process   * Promotes improved circulation

    * Aids in bodies recovery process      * Stimulates nervous system

    * Boosts immune system

Massage therapy and chiropractic care in combination provides a synergistic effect on the body. The soft tissue treatment of massage therapy on your muscles, ligaments and tendons in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments, allows the body to heal and recover at a faster rate. This often results in better range of motion with decreased muscle tension, pain and discomfort.
